Yacht & boat photo,
video & drone

Boats sell on the lead photo. We shoot listing media for yachts, sportfish and boats from Destin to Cape San Blas — stills in broker order, walkthrough video, FPV fly-throughs and drone aerials — for brokers, dealers, charter captains, marinas and owners on the Florida Panhandle coast, with travel included in the quote.

Yacht and boat listing media for brokers, dealers, captains and owners

JandyLucho Marketing and Media provides yacht and boat listing photography, video, FPV and drone media for brokers, dealers, charter operators and marinas in Destin, Panama City Beach, Panama City, Mexico Beach, Port St. Joe and the Florida Panhandle coast, based in Grand Ridge, FL.

Brokers with a sportfish that has to look right on YachtWorld the day it posts. Dealers with a row of inventory to shoot the same way. Charter captains who book trips off a reel. Marina managers selling slips. Owners selling privately. We come to you — dock, yard or ramp — from Destin to Cape San Blas.

What a boat shoot includes

  • Listing Ready — 30-50 stills in broker order (lead exterior, both profiles, bow, stern, helm with the electronics on, cockpit, salon, staterooms, heads, engine room), a drone orbit and top-down (airspace permitting — see the airspace note below), a 60-90 second walkthrough, one vertical and the platform pack.
  • Cinematic Listing Film — Listing Ready plus an FPV fly-through, running shots where compliant (captain inside the quote), a 2-3 minute film with titles and a spec card, and three verticals.
  • Charter / Brand Film — lifestyle crew shoot underway, a 30-60 second reel, 16-28 stills in booking-platform crops, a captain portrait and a Reels, TikTok and Shorts set.
  • Dealer / New-Boat Inventory — a batch day: lead image per unit, a short walkaround of each, show-prep sets.
  • Marina / Boatyard — aerial brand piece, slip and amenity stills, refit progress video.
  • Owner Film — delivery day, a tournament weigh-in or a boat parade (ground and boat-mounted cameras at crowded docks; drone only where the FAA's over-people rules allow).

YachtWorld and Boat Trader ready files

BoatWizard — the system behind YachtWorld, Boat Trader and boats.com — accepts JPGs up to 15 MB each and 50 MB per listing, recommends 2160 x 1440 at 3:2, and takes video as an MP4 under 50 MB or a YouTube link. So the set arrives as one folder: /web-3x2-2160 for the listing upload, /full-res for print, /video with the MP4 and a YouTube link, and /vertical for Reels and Shorts, lead image first, named in broker order — nothing to crop, resize or rename.

How a boat shoot works

Dockside is the default. We send a prep list with every booking (the short version is in the FAQ below). The boat stays in the slip or at anchor and the drone launches from the dock or the stationary boat: FAA rule 107.25 only allows flying from a moving boat over sparsely populated water, and a working harbor is not that, so we do not try. Interiors, helm, engine room and the aerial orbit all happen here, no captain needed.

Underway is an add-on. We move to open bay or Gulf water with few boats around, where rule 107.25 lets us fly from the chase boat, and running shots are passes from alongside — the owner's tender, the broker's captain or a licensed captain we line up — with the captain's day rate, fuel and boat time as its own line in the quote, usually paired with a sea trial or delivery so the boat goes out once.

Weather and airspace. Hurricane season runs through November 30, so every boat shoot gets a 48-hour go/no-go on the NWS marine forecast and one free weather reschedule. Harbor airspace is checked before we quote; where it needs an authorization, you hear the lead time up front.

Airspace, insurance and harbor rules

Jandy is the boat photographer and FAA Part 107 certified pilot on every shoot, and the business is fully insured, with a certificate of insurance on request. We fly by Part 107's Remote ID and twilight-lighting rules and never hover over anyone on deck; over-people frames happen only with a Category 1 aircraft (under 250 g with no exposed rotating parts that can cut skin) while the boat is stationary at the dock or at anchor, or not at all.

Destin Harbor, East Pass, HarborWalk and Crab Island sit in Destin Executive's Class D airspace with a zero-foot facility map, no LAANC and Eglin's Part 93 corridor on top, so a short-notice Destin boat shoot defaults to ground and gimbal video plus boat-mounted angles, with drone aerials as an add-on once authorized. The FAQ below has the detail, and our guide to flying a drone in Destin walks the facility map point by point.

The Grand Lagoon marinas on Panama City Beach, St. Andrews and Panama City Marina in Panama City, Port St. Joe and Mexico Beach sit in Class G, so no airspace authorization is needed; we still check the sectional for Tyndall, the Navy and Coast Guard no-drone polygons north of Grand Lagoon, and NOTAMs before every flight. The ports stay out of frame: Port Panama City and Port St. Joe are critical infrastructure under Florida Statute 330.41, with written consent before any port-adjacent job. That is our pilot's read of the FAA maps and Florida law as of the current chart cycle, not legal advice; airspace layers and local rules change, so we re-check every harbor before we quote and again the morning we fly.

New service, honest proof

Dedicated yacht photography and boat listing sets are the newest service we offer, and we say so plainly: we have not delivered a brokerage listing set yet, and the first ones will land in the portfolio as they are delivered, with the owner's sign-off. What we can show today is real Panhandle water we have flown — the St. Joseph Bay sunrise above, the Shell Point marina aerials below — and the craft that carries over: the cinematic home film we shot in Port St. Joe, the interior and lifestyle approach behind our hotel and resort video production, and the vacation rental galleries we shoot on the same coast. Same cameras, same drones, same edit — the subject floats.

Yes. Every set ships in one folder sorted for upload: /web-3x2-2160 JPGs at the 2160 x 1440 size BoatWizard recommends for YachtWorld, Boat Trader and boats.com, each under the 15 MB per-photo limit and sized so the full set fits BoatWizard's 50 MB per-listing cap; /full-res for print; /video with an MP4 under 50 MB plus a YouTube link; and /vertical for Reels and Shorts, lead image first, named in broker order.

Not on short notice, and we say so up front. Destin Harbor and HarborWalk sit in Destin Executive's Class D airspace: the FAA facility map reads zero feet, the airport is not on LAANC and the harbor lies inside Eglin's Part 93 corridor, so authorization is a manual FAADroneZone request plus Eglin's process, with 30 to 90 days of lead time and no guarantee. A Destin boat shoot therefore defaults to ground and gimbal video, boat-mounted angles and stills from the dock, with drone aerials quoted as an add-on once authorized.

Yes, as an add-on. FAA rule 107.25 only permits flying from a moving boat over sparsely populated water, and a busy harbor is not that, so in the marina the drone launches from the dock or an anchored boat. Running shots happen out in open bay or Gulf water with few boats around, as passes from alongside, never a hover over the occupied deck. That boat's captain, yours or a licensed captain we line up, is its own line in the quote, usually paired with a sea trial or delivery.

Treat it like a showing: clear decks, cockpit and salon of personal gear, coolers and loose lines; wipe down hull, glass and stainless; make the beds and clear the galley; turn the helm electronics on so the screens are live; open the engine room if we are shooting it; canvas fully on or fully off. Book a detailer for the day before, not the morning of. We send a short prep list with every booking.

Fast turnaround is the standard, and listing sets come back before films: stills and the platform-ready folder first so the listing can go live, then the walkthrough, verticals and any FPV or cinematic film once the cut and grade are done. Tell us when the listing posts and we build the shoot and edit around that date, with the delivery target written on your quote.

Right now we cover the Florida Panhandle coast we already serve, Destin to Cape San Blas: Destin, 30A and Santa Rosa Beach, Panama City Beach, Panama City, Mexico Beach and Port St. Joe, plus St. George Island and the Forgotten Coast, travel included. Pensacola and Orange Beach are quoted case by case; Orange Beach requires a city drone permit with advance notice, so give us lead time there. We are not taking South Florida boat work right now.

Every boat is quoted individually, with same-day quotes Monday through Saturday, so there is no price list here. The drivers are boat length, interior complexity, dockside versus an underway session with a captain, and add-ons like an FPV fly-through or a cinematic listing film. Travel is included, and one quote covers photo, video and drone. Send the make, length and where she is docked and we will come back with a clear number.
